All these things are one.
For some reason, I’m interested in measurements.
I like how they’re not real, but made up concepts that are arbitrarily created and spread.
I like how throughout history, kings decided how much ‘one’ was, and that was that.
That’s what I’m exploring in a self-initiated project I’m working on at the moment, to make sense of it all, and to call into question these ‘unreal’ aspects of our lives that we usually don’t bother questioning.
From left to right: a cana, this distance between my room and my flatmate Alexs’ room, a smoot, the height of my flatmate Bethan, a fathom, a metre, a yard, a cubit, a megalithic yard, a foot, a link, a pes, a cham am, a pace, a nail and a paris inch.
